More about this cause...
My fourth and final year of study at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine brought much growth and memories. Most of these were wonderful, but there is one which was challenging to process and forever etched into what I think of when I contemplate that year as a student clinician. That was the morning of Tuesday, September 11th, 2001.
Fear, confusion, disbelief, and surrealism took hold for those of us present for clinic that morning. Much of this sentiment continued through the days and weeks that followed. As time passed, and the healing process began, elements of normalcy in everyday life began to return. On every anniversary of that date, I replay the details and collective experiences of that morning, and can only hope that all of those more directly affected by those events have themselves found peace and healing. To help in this regard, 10% of all proceeds from this Introduction course will be donated to the Tuesday's Children organization.
Established after the events of September 11th, Tuesday's Children provides a wide range of supportive services to survivors of the attacks, and families of the victims. It has also expanded its services to those families, including military families, affected by the likes of terrorism, traumatic loss, mass violence, and military conflict. Supportive services include individual & family support programs, mental health and wellness initiatives, youth and career mentoring programs.
